<div itemprop="description">BEGER, Earl James<br />October 19, 1930-April 5, 2016<br />We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Father, on April 5, 2016 at WRH-Met Campus I.C.U, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Peggy (2004) for 51 years. Cherished father and best friend to Don (Debby McBride) and Gregg. Son of the late Bruno and Alberta Beger. Dear brother of Jeanne Amsden of London. Predeceased by his brothers Reginald and Robert. Survived by many favoured nieces and nephews. Will be missed by his family, friends and co-workers. Earl grew up in Windsor, where he attended Kennedy Collegiate and excelled in track and field. He served with distinction at Canada Customs for 34 years, retiring in 1994. Earl was also a master upholsterer working at Bartlets in Windsor, as well as J.L. Hudson, Sears and Roebuck in Detroit. Earl was proud to be a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge here in Windsor. Earl enjoyed spending his winters in Arizona, California, Hawaii with his late wife Peggy. Some of their fondest memories were made at the family cottage at Lighthouse Cove. After the loss of his beloved wife, Earl traveled extensively with his family, especially enjoying the Florida sunshine. Another passion of his was to visit historic ballparks, where he enjoyed many baseball games. Earl was a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan and season ticket holder. He was an avid gardener, winning several city awards and loved to cook a homemade meal for his family. A special thank you to Dr. Anees, Dr. Scheinder, R.N&rsquo;s Marianne, Anna, Gina and the entire ICU staff for their compassion and dedicated care. The family would also like to thank the staff of Aspen Lake-Sandwich Town, especially Nasiba, Christine and Earl&rsquo;s girls. We would also like to thank the staff of Malden Park Tayfour Campus for their rehabilitation and care. A sincere thank you to the staff at Home Instead, particularly Judy, Cecille and Heather. We would also like to thank long time caregiver Terry for many years of care on Tecumseh Road. Visitation will be held at Morris Sutton Funeral Home, 68 Giles Blvd, Windsor (519-254-8633) on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. The visitation will continue on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the Chapel Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online condolences may be left at www.msuttonfuneral.ca. Earl loved his family and that was his most precious gift and greatest blessing. He was a true gentleman and respected by everyone who knew him. <br /></div>
